Industar 69 2.8/28 is the lens from the Soviet camera ‘Chaika’. There are several variations of ‘Industar-69’: at first the camera models ‘Chaika’ was a fixed with lens, then the models ‘Chaika-2, -2M, 3’ were non-fixed installed as shown in this review.

Industar 69 thread is М39х1, but, in comparison with other rangefinder lenses, its working segment is shorter than usual. It is 27.5 mm. Industar 69 is designed to work with the 18×24 frame.
Industar 69 2.8/28 is very light and small, even smaller Industar 50-2 3,5/50. The lens barrel is fully metal. The case has focusing distance scale in meters. There are additional pointers ‘tree house’, ‘group of people’ and ‘people’ on it. It reminded me of the automatic modes ‘night portrait’, ‘sports’, etc. on the main control wheel of modern SLR cameras. Apparently these symbols allow you to set the desired focusing distance (focusing) quickly when shooting such scenes.
Minimum focusing distance is 80 cm During focusing the front lens rotates, and the lens trunk goes forward a little bit. Also on the body of Industar 69 2.8/28 there is a DOF scale for aperture values F/2.8, 4, 5.6 8, 11, 16. The lens can use a tiny filter with a diameter of 22.5 mm.
The aperture ring is recessed near the front lens. This is very uncomfortable. The aperture ring rotates smoothly, without a fixed intermediate values. Unfortunately, Industar 69 2.8/28 has only 5 diaphragm blades .
As for me, I was always amused when people make something worthwhile from the ordinary lens. . In this case, Industar 69 2.8/28 is a high-aperture wide angle macro lens for amateurs and not only).
Comments:
Aleks: It is turned out to be very atmospheric pictures. Photoshop is necessary! Industar 69 2.8/28 is a wonderful lens.
Maks: Very cool thing for macro.
Denis: Those who have problems with infinity , just unscrew (but do not remove completely) 4 microbolts under the flatscrewdriver and remove the aperture ring, then aim at the infinity, and everything will be OK.
